Provides an opportunity for candidates to undertake independent research comprising of foundational coursework and a substantive thesis. The course prepares students to inquire into the nature of educational problems and generate new knowledge which can be used to enhance policy and practice. When undertaking research, students are encouraged to become involved in applied research which attempts to provide solutions to the problems faced by learners, teachers, administrators, consultants and policy-makers.<br><br>Course Learning Outcomes<br>Critically analyse peer-reviewed research to independently engage with and review rigorous educational literature.<br>Critically engage with significant and contemporary educational research theories and provide analyses of theoretical perspectives to educational research.<br>Provide examples for why research integrity and ethical conduct matters.<br>Understand the necessity of linking and nesting multiple research design components to ensure research is robust conceptually and theoretically, is practically feasible, and contributes to the field.<br>Design, plan and complete an independent research project.
