Founded in 1985, the Core Purpose of the Anglican Schools Commission (Inc.) (ASC)is to establish and support low fee Anglican systemic schools which provide a high quality, inclusive, caring Christian education.Growing from modest beginnings with the opening of St Mark’s Anglican Community School in 1986 inPerth’s northern beachside suburb of Hillarys, there are nowmore than 14,000students attending11 ASC schools in Western Australia, three ASC Schools in the Diocese of Wangaratta and the ASC Language School, based in Perth. The Anglican Schools Commission (Incorporated) (ASC) was established in 1985, following the passage of a resolution by the Perth Diocesan Synod of the Anglican Church of Australia. The aim was to provide access to affordable Christian education in the Anglican tradition to more families. It was recognised that existing Independent Anglican schools, while offering excellent education and fine facilities, were unable to be accessed by many families. The ASC’s most recent acquisitions are Trinity Anglican College (NSW), Cobram Anglican Grammar School (Victoria) and St George’s Anglican Grammar School (WA).Our newest school to be established isSt James’ Anglican School in Alkimos, 40kms north of Perth, while new campuses of existing schools have also been established in recent years. The ASC is the only non-government secondary schooling system offering the Western Australian Universities’ Foundation Program (WAUFP), which enables entry to the University of Western Australia, Curtin University, Edith Cowan University or Murdoch University. Students who complete the WAUFP are able to apply to leading universities in Australia and the rest of the world.
