With an entering class of roughly five each year, students enrolled in the opera program at Mason Gross experience a very personal approach to their education and specialized curriculum. Students take a diverse curriculum including Acting and Movement for Singers, Graduate Diction, Opera Workshop, Vocal Health, Business of Opera, and History Courses tailored for the singer. The Opera and Voice faculty includes accomplished artists who have worked with the Metropolitan Opera, New York City Opera, Lyric Opera of Chicago, Covent Garden, Vienna State Opera, Glimmerglass Opera, Tulsa Opera, and San Diego Opera. Master classes with notable singers of international distinction visit campus to enrich each student's performance training. Additionally, each year select students will be given the opportunity to attend the Castleton summer festival which brings together young talent with experienced professionals for 20 opera and concert performances over four weeks.
