In accordance with the British Psychological Society's requirements, applicants are required to hold a minimum of a lower second class (2:2) UK honours degree (or international equivalent).
Please be aware the University may not be able to make a decision on your application without the academic transcript for your highest qualification. An interim transcript may be acceptable if the qualification is not yet complete.
There is no deadline for applications to our postgraduate programmes, however we recommend you apply as early as possible to allow for processing of applications and visas.

Applicants to the PgDip route must have studied 60 credits of psychology at Level 4 or above. Transcripts will be reviewed by the admissions team and/or admissions tutor to assess eligibility. If you have any questions, contact the Psychology admissions team on psychadmissionsteam@mmu.ac.uk.
What to Include in Your Personal Statement
The personal statement should clearly discuss the following points:
How your ongoing career plans would benefit from studying this psychology course
Your commitment, motivation, and ability to dedicate appropriate time and resources to the course (we strongly recommend around 40 hours per week for full time routes, and around 20 hours per week for part time routes)
Your familiarity with relevant IT
In addition, your personal statement will be evaluated on the strength of academic writing and clarity of communication.

Explore the history of modern psychology, the development of social identity, and the workings of the human brain. Develop a critical understanding of qualitative and quantitative research methods and achieve Graduate Basis for Chartered Membership, the first step to becoming a chartered psychologist.<br><br>Designed for students who have a degree without accreditation from The British Psychological Society (BPS), our course opens doors to various opportunities and further education within the field of psychology.<br><br>We teach this course entirely online, covering each unit over a series of topic weeks. Youll typically learn through mini lectures (available as video presentations), online discussions, readings from core e-texts, and other forms of learning activity.<br><br>Some of the topics youll explore include how memory functions, how our identities are constructed, and how our perceptions change with age. Youll develop a critical understanding of qualitative and quantitative research methods which will help you with your independent research project. <br><br>Youll also have the opportunity to choose from a variety of option units such as Educational Psychology, Forensic Psychology, and Clinical Neuroscience. <br><br>Our course is accredited by the British Psychological Society and, when you graduate, you can apply for Graduate Basis for Chartered Membership (GBC). Once you have GBC, you can continue with further study in a specialist area and become a chartered psychologist.
