Year 11 is the start of a student's preparation for secondary school graduation and university studies. Upon successful completion of Years 11 and 12, students are awarded a Western Australian Certificate of Education(WACE). Students can choose a mixture of the Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR), vocational education and training (VET) programs and General subjects. The range of subjects and programs offered varies from school to school. Year 11 students also have the opportunity to study the subject English as an Additional Language/Dialect (EALD) to help them gain entry into the Western Australian Universities' Foundation Program (WAUFP).
