This program is designed for educators who wish to deepen their understanding of the field to become a teacher-researcher, and to improve the practice as a whole. Foundational courses cover areas of human developmenteducational psychology, foundations of education, educational assessment, research methods, diversity and action research. Students can select between five emphasis areas to focus their program of study. This program is not designed for those seeking teacher certification, but rather those who already hold certification or wish to deepen their understanding and become teacher-researchers. Quality educators and curriculum designers are vital to the health of our schools and students’ lives. Careers in education are expected to grow about as fast as the average for all occupations according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.
