Centre for Health Service Studies ARC PhD Studentship in Public Health

We welcome applications from a prospective doctoral student interested in investigating the utilisation of health and social care services among people with clusters of long term conditions, with a focus on coastal towns. We have access to a large dataset linking data from general practices, trusts and social care organisations across Kent and Medway that can be used to explore this issue.

We are looking for students who are enthusiastic about analysing large datasets to gain health policy and practice insights. The studentship opportunity is open to all candidates including those with professional practice experience in public health.

Applicants will have completed a health-related postgraduate training course at Master's level equivalent to merit or distinction with a substantial research training component, which must include training in quantitative data analysis skills.

A combination of qualifications and/or experience that is equivalent to a relevant UK degree may also be accepted.

The University of Kent, in collaboration with the NIHR Applied Research Collaboration Kent, Surrey, Sussex (ARC KSS) are offering this PhD studentship in a 3-year full-time or 5 years part-time capacity based in the Centre for Health Services Studies, at the University of Kent, commencing in October 2022 or January 2023.
