2023 HDR Curtin round - Effects of Language and Culture: Exploring the Foreign Language Effect

The annual scholarship package (stipend and tuition fees) is approx. AUD $60,000 - AUD $70,000 p.a.

Successful HDR applicants for admission will receive a 100% fee offset for up to 4 years, stipend scholarships, valued at AUD $28,854 p.a. for up to a maximum of 3.5 years, are determined via a competitive selection process. Applicants will be notified of the scholarship outcome in November 2022.

Eligibility criteria

Essential Criteria: Excellent academic record including Honours or Masters of Research Degree in Psychology, (Psycho-/ Patho-)Linguistics, Speech Pathology, Cognitive Science and/or related field excellent spoken and written English theoretical knowledge of at least one other language than English.

Desirable Criteria: Understanding of theories of bilingual language and cognitive processing advanced statistical skills (e.g., experience with R and linear mixed effect modelling experience with qualitative approaches, and proficiency in more than one language).
