Biology is one of WIU's Signature Programs. Research and field experiences are offered to undergraduates. Field Trips to natural areas<br>Access to the Alice L. Kibbe Life Science Station, a 1,689 acre natural area along the Mississippi River. Student participate in Laboratory experiments in both core and upper-level courses. Participate in departmental organizations such as the Wildlife Society, Sportsman's Club, Tri-Beta, Botany Club, Pre-Professional Club, and the Fishing Club. Students in the teacher licensure program participate in a number of activities through their program, including judging science fairs, coordinating events for Science Olympiad, and attending Biology Day<br>Opportunities to take classes in different countries such as Australia, Finland, China, New Zealand, and England
