Track A: Highly qualified BSc graduates meeting the following requirements may be eligible to apply directly to the PhD Program: An appropriate bachelor's degree in the Life Sciences from a recognized university. A minimum A average in the third and fourth years. Evidence of strong research experience.
Track B: Excellent students in LMP MSc program may be recommended for transfer to the PhD program by their graduate advisory committee. Transfer exams are held within 18 months after the start of the MSc program.
Track C: MSc graduates and applicants with MD, DDS, DVM (or equivalent) degree. A minimum A- average is required in graduate courses, or in senior-level BSc coursework if MSc course requirements were minimal or absent. There should also be evidence of competence in research based on scientific publications, abstracts, or conference presentations.

Researchers involved in Molecular and cellular biology decipher an incredibly wide array of molecular and cellular processes.<br>This area is the foundation for the vast majority of basic and clinical research.<br>Research ranges from deciphering basic pathways of the cell to understanding how these pathways impact various physiological and pathological settings.<br>Laboratories in this area utilize various approaches including genomic sequencing, microscopy, and genetic models as diverse as yeast, fruit flies, worms, mice, and mammalian systems. <br>These processes include: -<br>chromosome structure and dynamics <br>gene expression <br>cell polarity and division <br>intracellular trafficking and compartmentalization <br>cell morphology and the cytoskeleton <br>morphogenesis <br>signalling <br>extracellular communications <br>tissue organization <br>stem cell differentiation <br>embryogenesis <br>cellular/organismal aging <br>cellular transformation <br>tumourigenesis <br>host/immune interactions <br>apoptosis <br>structure of viral proteins <br>molecular evolution
