To apply, you must have at least a bachelor's degree or its equivalent from a college or university of recognized standing, with a strong background in biological, chemical, physical, or mathematical sciences. We have no minimum GPA requirement and welcome all academic majors.
The following components make up the application for the PhD program:
an undergraduate transcript
a personal statement
three recommendation letters
a resume or CV
The personal statement should address the following: significant research experience(s) that led you to apply to graduate school and major area(s) of interest, life experiences that have contributed to your potential, as well as any immediate and long-term goals (1,000 words).
For the TOEFL, the Graduate School recommends that the applicant achieve a minimum TOEFL score of 100 on the internet-based test. For the IELTS, a minimum overall band score of at least 7 is recommended.

The Molecular Oncology and Tumor Immunology PhD Training Program at NYU Grossman School of Medicine's Vilcek Institute of Graduate Biomedical Sciences offers candidates a choice of research focus in either cancer biology or tumor immunology. The program has been supported by the Molecular Oncology and Immunology Training Grant (T32 CA009161) funded by the National Institutes of Health's National Cancer Institute for more than 45 years.<br>The Molecular Oncology and Tumor Immunology PhD Training Program at NYU Grossman School of Medicine's Vilcek Institute of Graduate Biomedical Sciences offers candidates a choice of research focus in either cancer biology or tumor immunology. The program has been supported by the Molecular Oncology and Immunology Training Grant (T32 CA009161) funded by the National Institutes of Health's National Cancer Institute for more than 45 years<br>Our program brings together investigators from across NYU Grossman School of Medicine who employ tools of molecular biology and genetics, sophisticated imaging technologies, and genome-wide genetic, chemical, metabolomic, and proteomic analysis of cancer and immunity.
