This program emphasizes using evidence-based decision making to solve real instructional problems that health educators face. It also takes an inter-professional approach that’s applicable across medical professions. Coursework focuses on teaching you how to design educational programs, use student assessment tools, understand and apply research, evaluate program effectiveness, and develop cultural awareness, which will all pay dividends in the field. As a student enrolled in this program, you must complete at least 24 credit hours of required coursework and 9 credit hours of elective coursework for a minimum of 33 total credit hours with a 3.0 grade point average or better.<br>The Masters Degree in Health Professions Education (MHPE) provides an educational research foundation for teaching, assessment and leadership in health professions education. The MHPE curriculum is focused on the application of learning principles to educational practice. All courses emphasize an applied project based on students’ professional experiences. The educational portfolio serves as an integrative tool across courses and as a showcase for student accomplishments.
