课程简介
Dietetics is the field of public health concerned with diet and its effects on health, especially with the practical application of a scientific understanding of nutrition. With a major in dietetics, you'll gain a deep understanding about the connection between nutrition and health, as well as the ability to communicate about it effectively. This broad course of study, which promotes the health of individuals and communities, will prepare you to become a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN). As a dietetics major, you will complete courses in core subjects including medical nutrition therapy, food chemistry, and life cycle nutrition. You will apply knowledge gained from the classroom setting in hands-on laboratory and community experiences. Additional subjects such as physiology, psychology, oral communication, and biostatistics give you a well-rounded foundation. A major in dietetics will offer you a wide range of possible career paths in corporate wellness, sports nutrition, food research and development, or even journalism. If you choose to take the exam and qualify to become a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN), you will be prepared to work in many different settings, including hospitals and clinics, schools, government agencies, or private practice.
