The Bachelor of Nursing (Honours) provides the opportunity to pursue an independent research project in an area of your interest. Cultivate sophisticated critical thinking skills alongside specialist knowledge as you design and complete a supervised thesis.<br><br>Available to high-achieving students, who have completed a Bachelor of Nursing or Master of Nursing (pre-registration), it allows students to investigate an idea that can improve the practice of nursing and the lives of patients and opens the door to future research.<br>The degree combines coursework with students' own research project. The coursework involves units of study relating to research methods and the preparation of the thesis (approximately 15,000 words).<br><br>You will complete four units of study in which you will develop an understanding of research design and methodology, including data collection and analysis techniques, and the ethical considerations involved in undertaking research. You will work with a supervisor who helps guide your project and assists in formulating a research question, study design, ethics submissions, collecting results, and the writing and publishing of your work.<br><br>You will also be invited to present to your peers in at least one research forum throughout the year, enabling you to further develop and refine your work.<br><br>Research workshops are run throughout Semester 1. <br><br>A variety of guest speakers with expertise in a range of research areas will present during these workshops.
