Music Therapy facilitates outcomes in cognition, speech and communication, physical, psychological and social functioning, using music to assist in non-musical outcomes. As an aspiring music therapist, you will gain a multitude of training and therapeutic skills in core Conservatory programming such as music therapy, psychology, science, statistics and research methods.<br>Our music therapy program combines the art of musicianship with the science of therapy, psychology, science, statistics and research methods. As a music therapy student, you will be immersed in coursework that will aid in developing foundational clinical musicianship skills such as therapeutic improvisation and songwriting to utilize with clients of all ages in a variety of practicum sites throughout the Kansas City metropolitan area.
