Our music major is a great choice if you have professional ambitions in music performance, public school teaching, composition, jazz studies, as a music generalist, or seek a foundation for graduate study leading to college or university teaching or research positions. You have the opportunity to learn from our award-winning faculty and to perform in a variety of ensembles, ranging from our University Orchestra to Jazz Ensemble. For aspiring composers and music historians, you'll enjoy taking classes in our electronic music studio, and learning from accomplished composition, musicology, and ethnomusicology faculty. We offer emphases in composition & technology, conducting, jazz studies, music education, music entrepreneurship & business, music recording technology & audio design, performance, and professional studies.
