Students have access to all the resources of a theater conservatory situated within a nationally ranked research university. Located only 45 minutes from New York City, the theater production program seeks to develop collaborative, resourceful, versatile theater professionals who exercise excellent judgment, demonstrate broad-based theatrical skills, and embody the high professional standards befitting their position as leaders in the theater. Faculty and staff are distinguished working professionals, and classes are small, so students receive one-on-one mentoring. Production students follow a 3.5 year, 7 semester, curriculum with numerous opportunities to work directly on Rutgers Theater Company, Rutgers Opera, and Rutgers Dance productions. Students concentrate in either stage management or technical direction.
