课程简介
The BFA Acting program at Brooklyn College is a conservatory style, ensemble-based training sequence. Grounded in the Stanislavski System, modern approaches facilitate classical training for the contemporary actor. Specialty approaches are employed with an eye toward instrument integration, and include Rodenburg technique, Alexander technique, improvisation, Laban, Butoh, speech and dialects, solo performance, stage combat, the business of acting, and acting for the camera. BC BFA Actors follow a progressive structure of performance study that enables each artist to discover and develop their personal instrument and technique. Integrated approaches build emotional stamina while developing vocal, physical, and intellectual agility. Exploration, analysis, and rehearsal of contemporary works progresses to contemporary realism, which deepens into modern realism and carries through heightened classical text and Shakespeare. 1012 student actors per year comprise an ensemble, which moves through the course of training together. The incredible diversity within the ensemble reflects Brooklyn and the world at large which allows a broader base of contemporary material for study and performance, as well as exciting opportunities through which to examine period text.
