Turn your love of theatre, art and scenic design into a rewarding career combining creativity and technical skill. During this program, you will develop your abilities in design, idea development, production and entrepreneurship under the tutelage of professional stage directors and practicing artists. Tailor this program to your interests and ambitions by selecting the design or technology emphasis. Upon graduation, design students will be prepared to compete for United Scenic Artist Local 820 membership as scenic designers, costume designers, lighting designers or sound designers. Students pursuing the technology emphasis will be trained for jobs as technical directors, stage managers, other supervisory technical positions or related roles in the entertainment business. Set and exhibition designers have a diverse skill set that allows them to work in a variety of industries, including theatre, motion pictures and video, museums and historical sites, advertising and public relations, and the performing arts.
