The Minnesota State University, Mankato Department of Theatre and Dance is dedicated to three primary goals: to provide students with the highest caliber of preparation in theatre and dance, to cultivate student's social awareness and responsibility relative to equity and inclusion as they pertain to race, gender, and ability, and, to provide the southern Minnesota region with a multi-faceted, high quality theatrical and dance experience.Our Dance Program is a dynamic and growing field of study that provides students with a rich program of study, five degree options, diverse performance opportunities and off-campus events. Students receive a comprehensive education grounded in a liberal arts education that prepares them for a lifetime in dance such as: teaching, performing, private studio ownership, choreographing, dance therapy, arts administration, dance writing and related fields.
