The Dance Department at Mason Gross School of the Arts works to cultivate a community of high-caliber, collaborative, and multidimensional dance artists. Faculty members include working dance professionals that come from some of the most renowned dance companies in the world, as well as choreographers who continue to create acclaimed works. Students extend their artistic reach and potential in the ample studio spaces, beautiful rural campus setting and state of the art performance facilities just 45 minutes from New York City. The BFA/EdM is a five year joint program between Mason Gross School of the Arts and the Rutgers Graduate School of Education. The program has four core areas of study: technique and performance, creative process and choreography, theoretical dance studies, and dance education. Graduates of the program are recommended to the NJ State Department of Education for K-12 dance teacher certification (which has reciprocity in 36 states).
