Our Studio Art program is designed to immerse you in the vibrant Kansas City arts community and give you tools to develop creative and critical thinking skills, visual and verbal abilities and versatility through a variety of instructional and experiential opportunities. Kansas City is nationally known for its vibrant arts scene with the UMKC Gallery of Art, the Agnes Arts Center and First Fridays in the Crossroads Arts District. Our high-impact studio arts program is designed to provide you with unique learning opportunities inside and outside the classroom including trips to art studios, exhibits in the UMKC Gallery of Art and relationships with community arts organizations. As a studio arts major, you’ll be empowered to pursue a career that suits your interests, preferences on working hours and salary expectations with choices in a range of careers in the arts, from creating your own works of art, to curating a collection for a museum.
