This course is for people who are interested in working in the community or residential settings, supporting people who are elderly or people with disabilities. As an Individual Support Worker, you will be able to make a real difference in people's everyday lives, supporting them to maintain their independence and standard of living. This is a highly practical course, including work placements in day centres and/or residential facilities. Graduates will be provided with the knowledge, skills and values to carry out activities related to maintaining and maximising the independence and wellbeing of people with disabilities and elderly. Students will interact with people with a disability to facilitate learning and also learn skills in an active simulated environment.
