The world of business is all about getting things done. If you want to develop practical managerial skills such as leadership, problem-solving, effective communication and team-working, and crucial employability skills through a paid industry placement, this could be the degree for you. Our four-year BBA degree allows you to choose options from across our world-renowned Management School. These include entrepreneurship, organisation, technology and management, economics, marketing and accounting and finance. This will give you the ability to look at a problem from multiple perspectives in order to find the best solution. The programme is accredited by the Chartered Management Institute at Master's Level. This means you are exempt from certain CMI exams as you progress professionally. All first year students study business and management theory and practice, economics or marketing, business analytics and financial accounting. In your second year, you'll continue to build on your knowledge. You will also put your learning into practice with a ten-week project with a local business. This will involve making recommendations about a real issue. Your third year is spent on industry placement, which could be with a household brand or a dynamic start-up depending on your interests. Our award-winning team are here to help you with finding the ideal match. Previous students have worked with companies such as Apple, IBM, Levi Strauss, PwC and Toyota. Many of the placements are UK-based but some students have secured placements in Europe and further afield. Your final year is all about tailoring your studies to your aspirations. You will work with others in a computer-based simulation running an airline, competing against other teams. Your industry placement forms the basis of your dissertation. We will also explore topics such as takeovers, mergers and corporate raiding in the Principles of Strategic Management.
