This master's programme was introduced in response to the growing demanding on professionally managed purchasing and supply chains management, as companies have become more aware of the strategic value of supply chain. It provides an excellent basis for employment which has resulted in student employment rates after graduation. The programme is taught by staff from the School of Engineering and Computer Science which was recently awarded an excellent grading in the HEFCE auditors' report. All study is assessed through continuous assessment. The programme will develop skills and advancement of knowledge on the broad areas of business, operations management, operations research, procurement and supply chain management, financial control, manufacturing information systems, manufacturing strategy, legal aspects of supply chain, and human resources management. The programme also utilises case studies, including analysis and synthesis, contribution to profitability, understanding of purchasing, procurement and logistics. It will promote critical review and analysis of strategic value, procurement and supply chain management.
