The Ability Diversity area of study is ideal for those that are planning on pursuing careers in almost any aspect of sport and physical activity. By learning about disability, injury, social and cultural differences that exist in persons competing, participating and/or training in sport and physical activity these students will be able to advocate for the appropriate programs, appropriate facilities, and appropriate equipment so that all persons are provided opportunities to participate in physical activity. The Ability Diversity area is most beneficial for those who aspire to become: programming specialists at any type of fitness and/or recreational facility, advocates for the Americans with Disabilities Act within corporate and/or collegiate setting, coaches for all types of athletes, occupational and physical therapists, athletic trainers, personal trainers, and wellness coaches.
