A student who has obtained the equivalent of a U.S. bachelor's degree and is planning on pursuing education beyond the Bachelor's degree at the Master's or Doctorate level should apply as a graduate student. (Previous degree students who wish to add an additional undergraduate major should apply as a transfer student.). A professional academic transcript evaluation for degrees earned outside the United States(This requirement cannot be waived unless your highest degree was earned or will be earned in the U.S. prior to enrollment at SDSU). A minimum GPA of 3.0 to receive unconditional admission.

Each applicant is required to provide two signed letters of recommendation from individuals familiar with the student's academic record as part of the graduate school application process. In addition, we require that interested applicants submit a writing sample (past term paper for example) and a personal statement. The personal statement should outline the applicant's academic goals and describe how those goals connect with SDSU faculty expertise and interests.
