Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of others Then earn a Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) degree with a Culinary Arts Education concentration from JWU.<br><br>You and your classmates will matriculate as a cohort, following a set sequence of courses, usually 2 or 3 evenings a week each semester. Your coursework includes field-based experiences in public school and JWU culinary classrooms, applying what you’ve learned by working each week with students in a variety of school settings.<br><br>As you progress in your fieldwork, you will explore research-based theories and best practices in a real-world setting, first by observing, then working with individual students and small groups, and eventually planning lessons for whole-class instruction.<br><br>Upon completion of your coursework and fieldwork, you will be ready for the most dynamic experience of your journey: student teaching in either a high school or university culinary setting, or completing a Culinary Capstone project focused on education.
