In Judaic Studies, you'll receive a comprehensive and cohesive education about Jews and Judaism, from historical, linguistic, religious, sociological, political, and philosophical perspectives. Courses span ancient through modern Israel, as well as Jewish life today. Here, professors will get to know you by name and aspiration. Our faculty are renowned scholars in modern Jewish history, the Holocaust, biblical archaeology, and ancient Near Eastern and Mediterranean religions and cultures. Study ancient texts, join archaeological projects in Israel and Europe, delve into Holocaust studies, or master Yiddish, Hebrew, and Arabic with their guidance and support.<br><br>The Maurice Greenberg Center for Judaic Studies directs the Museum of Jewish Civilization on campus, offering real-world museum experience. Assist in planning and coordinating exhibits, catalogs, annual lectures, and special events at the Center and Museum. Work with faculty on research, co-author publications, and make presentations at regional, national, and international conferences. You'll have the opportunity to intern at some of the most prestigious institutions in the northeast, study abroad at universities in Israel and Argentina, or go on an archaeological excavation in Israel, Greece, or Europe.
