国际学生入学条件

Admission to the M.A. program will be based on evaluations of (1) undergraduate grade record, (2) level of achievement in the Graduate Record Examination General Test, (3) three letters of recommendation, and (4) undergraduate exposure to linguistics and related course work. Students not satisfying requirement (4) may be admitted but may be required to do course work prerequisite to introductory graduate courses.
Graduate Record Examination (GRE) – scores are good for up to 5 years
TOEFL exam (International students) – Passing score of 92 IBT (580 paper-based) or 7.0 on the IELTS
Official transcript(s) listing grades in each course taken at accredited institutions of higher learning
300-700 word Statement of Purpose.

课程简介

总共30个学时，包括L520，L530，L541，L542和L543。这五个核心课程的平均成绩必须达到3.0（B）。经部门批准的其他选修课。如果部门认为令人满意的话，可以将其他机构的研究生课程等同于必修课程。语言学系必须提供至少20个学时。
The M.A. in Linguistics offers a high-level technical introduction to the range of fields in linguistics, covering both the core areas of analysis such as phonology, morphology, and syntax, but also extensions into related disciplines through phonetics, sociolinguistics, historical linguistics and semantics. In addition to providing this breadth of expertise in language, the M.A. program also acts as an excellent platform for launching advanced research and teaching careers in language applications and teaching, as well as linguistics.
