Applicants must have a bachelor's degree in any field from an accredited college or university. Preferred qualifications include significant course work on and/or academic or professional experience in the former Soviet Union or East/Central/Southeast Europe, as well as intermediate proficiency in at least one of the languages spoken in the region. A student who wishes to pursue the graduate program in Russian, East European and Eurasian Studies should show a substantial vested interest in our region of study through prior experience such as regional or global studies upper-division undergraduate coursework, an extended stay in the region (for research, work, study, PeaceCorp, etc), or an advanced proficiency in one of the languages of our region through course work or immersion.
A grade point average of at least 3.00 in upper-division (junior- and senior-level) coursework and in any graduate work already completed.
TOEFL: 79 on the Internet-based test (iBT)
IELTS: An overall band of 6.5 on the Academic Examination
