Latin American studies is an interdisciplinary degree, designed to build up students skills in professional development, critical thinking, understanding complex concepts (such as citizenship), and lifelong learning. By pursuing a degree in Latin American studies, students employ linguistic, organizational, analytical, technological, investigative, and communicative research tools, which can help with future research endeavors as well as careers outside of scholarly education. You'll enroll in courses on the cultures, histories, societies, economies, and governments of Latin America, offering training for business or professional careers that require specialized knowledge of this exciting and diverse area of the world. You'll also participate in a Latin American international experience such as study abroad, student exchange, internship, coursework in Tijuana, summer program, or other activities approved by your advisor.
