The specific objectives of the M.A. in Education Degree Program with a specialization in Educational Psychology Development, Learning, Instruction, and Evaluation are as To prepare students for entry into doctoral programs in educational psychology and education. Students engage in advanced study of theory and research in educational psychology with special emphasis on educational processes that are most appropriate for entry into doctoral programs in educational psychology and other fields of education. To offer students who are preparing for basic teaching credentials and teachers who wish to study and improve their teaching and supervision the opportunity to study extensively and in depth as well as learn how to do research about learning, development, instruction, and evaluation as it relates to students, families, teachers, schools, communities, and teaching-instruction variables. To equip individuals interested in assessment and evaluation with the specialized knowledge and skills necessary to conduct formative and summative evaluations using both quantitative and qualitative strategies. Students master the tools necessary to critically evaluate educational programs, interventions, and processes underlying practical applications related to development, learning, and instruction or training.
