A bachelor of science degree in integrated science studies provides you with a well-rounded and rigorous background across the core scientific disciplines of biology, geology, chemistry, and physics. This program encourages you to think about the interdisciplinarity of science by emphasizing the fundamental tenets of each discipline, how they interact, how these interactions can be applied towards our understanding of the natural world, and the overall nature of science. You will gain an in-depth understanding of established scientific hypotheses, theories, and laws while participating in the process through faculty-led and supervised research. We offer two tracks in this program. A pre-health professional track prepares you for further education in the health professions ranging from dentistry, chiropractic, medical school, and other graduate health pre-professional programs. It combines courses in the sciences and statistics-skills in demand in the health care field. The second track is the earth and biological sciences track that focuses on the skills required for careers in laboratory research and testing.<br><br>This degree program is designed with the needs of the Lake Campus region in mind. Employers require employees skilled for the health care professions, as well as employees with broad kills in chemistry and biology for lab technician and assistant positions. This program will get you the skills and education that will get you hired in careers like science advocacy, science education, scientific sales, technical and science writing, science policy and technology law, material sciences, bioinformatics, and laboratory analysis. This program also provides you with a solid foundation for further graduate education.
