The animal and dairy science degree includes all disciplines of the animal production industry, current scientific applications associated with animal science, and biotechnology associated with the animal science industry.<br>Students in this program will not only be exposed to multiple disciplines in the classroom but will also have the opportunity for experiential, and applied experiences in the fields of animal nutrition, reproduction and physiology, breeding and genetics, livestock production management, and animal biotechnology.<br>The animal and dairy science program is also a multi-species focused program in which students have the opportunity to work with beef, dairy cattle, horses, sheep, goats and swine. The department has ample resources to help students reach their academic and future professional goals. The department has expertise and access to research equipment to help students further their academic training related to animal health, reproduction, molecular genetics, growth and development, virology, livestock production management, and nutrition. Students will gain experience in these fields alongside professors who specialize in these fields, thus improving their academic experience and future professional opportunities.
