As a joint Department of Architecture & Civil Engineering we engage in research and develop graduate courses where integration between the disciplines is likely to be most valuable.Research is also carried out in collaboration with other departments in the University, particularly Mechanical Engineering, Electronic & Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Management, and Computer Science.The dissemination of research findings is seen as a vital component of the research process and graduate students are encouraged to prepare papers for publication as part of their research training. We encourage a wide range of interests. Academic staff are always open to ideas which extend existing work or introduce new topics to their existing subject areas. The MPhil and PhD programmes are an integral part of the Department of Architecture & Civil Engineering.
