课程简介
Our liberal studies major is designed for students who intend to teach at the elementary or middle school levels. Our graduates develop a rich understanding of the major subject areas, learn to identify and understand the developmental stages of children, and to observe, interview, and tutor children effectively in classroom settings. You'll choose from emphases in education-generalist, elementary education, integrated teacher education program (ITEP-MS), mathematics or science. In your first three years, you'll work on critical thinking, research, and writing skills. During your second or third semester, you'll complete 45 hours of fieldwork during which you'll critically assess issues related to teaching in culturally and linguistically diverse school settings, learn about career paths, and evaluate your occupational fitness for the teaching profession. In your junior year, you'll complete an additional 30 hours of fieldwork, and during your senior year, you'll complete a capstone project.
