Studying education which will provide you with knowledge about how children learn and develop, and how education fits into broader cultural contexts will prepare you for a wide number of roles within the education sector. <br><br>This major draws on the various theoretical and professional perspectives that comprise the broad discipline of education. Foundation units focus on the four pillars of education: philosophy, history, sociology and psychology. And they showcase the breadth of educational thought and study, and develop critical thinking and enquiry skills. Additionally, you can choose units that match your interests.<br><br>You may choose a combination of units from the following pathways: psychology, human development, learn, sociology, social contexts, diversity and inclusion, research and critical thinking, technology in education, early childhood studies.<br>If youre enrolled in the Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Education (Primary), you may also choose units from the maths, science, technology pathway.<br>Youll learn to apply and evaluate knowledge of educational theories, policies and practices within a range of contexts.<br>Youll become adept at identifying, analysing, evaluating and communicating issues in education, drawing upon current research, policies and practices.<br>Youll make judgements and generate solutions to the complex challenges within an educational context.<br>Youll critically reflect on learning achievements, personal educational philosophy, career transition and ongoing professional development.
