Forming actively engaged citizens Our goal in the Junior School is to nurture a love of learning, whilst cultivating a caring community within a thinking culture. We aim for our students to be increasingly self-confident, resilient and responsible, with an understanding of themselves as team members and community builders. We develop Neighbourhoods with curious and actively engaged citizens, a strong, respectful student voice, collaborative learning and opportunities beyond the classroom in our extraordinary environment. Junior School Curriculum - Early Childhood Learning: The Prep – Year 6 early childhood learning programs are developed with reference to the Victorian Curriculum and include content from the following subject and capability areas: Civics and Citizenship (Year 3 – Year 6), Critical and Creative Thinking, Design and Technology, Digital Technologies, Drama, Economics and Business (Year 5 & 6), English, Ethical Capability, Geography, Health and Physical Education, History, Intercultural Capability, Languages - Chinese, Mathematics, Media Arts (Year 5 & 6), Music, Personal and Social Capability, Science, Visual Arts .Students in Prep to Year 6 will undertake dedicated lessons in the core learning areas of Mathematics and English. Integrated term units of work provide opportunities for students to build knowledge, skills and understanding in all other areas of the curriculum.
