Physicists earning a masters degree enjoy a more advanced standing whether they choose to pursue careers in private industry or intend to apply for further academic training. Students work closely with faculty performing research funded by the private sector and large, national organizations in areas such as defense, environmental science and clean energy. This program offers a thesis and non-thesis option. The median annual wage for physicists is more than triple the national average for all occupations. Additionally, jobs are expected to grow by 8% over the next 10 years, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. This makes this profession an extremely high-paying and fast-growing option for prospective students.
