The MEng (Hons) Mechanical Engineering (Power and Energy) degree at Lincoln aims to produce graduates who are highly skilled, creative engineers. Students have the opportunity to study mechanical engineering and then specialise in power generation and electronics. The course aims to combine a challenging programme of academic study with opportunities to develop the personal skills that are required to become a successful engineer. The first and second years provide a solid foundation in engineering theory and practice. Students can develop fundamental knowledge on topics including mechanics, manufacturing processes, electrical technology, engineering mathematics, thermofluids and numerical computation. The third year offers specialist modules in electrical power such as power generation and power electronics.Students who choose to continue on to a fourth year of study at MEng level will have the opportunity to study advanced modules, learn about project management, teamwork and leadership, and complete an extended group project.
