Aerospace engineering at Salford focuses on the design and creation of aircraft, spacecraft and associated components. Across a range of specialist modules, we will enhance your skills and knowledge of engineering devices and associated components used in the production of civil and military aircraft, spacecraft and weapons systems.This course is accredited by the Institution of Mechanical Engineers. On graduation, you'll be ready to work towards Chartered Aerospace Engineer status which is an independent verification of your skills and demonstrates your commitment and credentials as an engineering professional.Study in purpose-built facilities, used for teaching, learning and research of aeronautics and aviation.Develop the knowledge to make informed decisions on the design, development and manufacture of the next-generation aeronautics craft and equipment.<br><br>The MSc programme is delivered over one year full-time. It consists of four 30-credit modules and one 60-credit project module. PG Dip (nine months full-time) and PG Cert (four months full-time) are available.In semester one, you will explore Aerodynamics and Engineering Computation. In the second semester, you'll progress to study Aerospace Assembly, Flight Simulation and Flight Dynamics and Control. In semester three, you will bring together all of your learning to carry out high-level coordinated academic and practical work to form part of your final assessment.<br><br>This is a highly valued qualification and can lead to opportunities in a range of sectors and organisations throughout the world. Popular routes include the design, manufacture and operation of aerospace vehicles, working for aerospace companies and their suppliers, governments and research institutions. Other possibilities exist in technical engineering specialisms or general business management.<br><br>Our graduates often find roles at companies involved in designing and manufacturing major sub-units of aeroplanes and related aerospace vehicles, such as engines, structural parts, avionics or environmental control systems. Salford alumni have gained employment with leading companies, including Airbus, BAE Systems, Roll-Royce, Thales, and Royal Air Force.
