PhD applicants should have, or be expecting to achieve, a 2:1 undergraduate degree in Chemistry or a relevant, related discipline. We have research students from a range of backgrounds on a variety of projects. Please note that although 2:1 is the minimum requirement to be considered for a PhD, funded studentships are very competitive and it is likely that you would need to be predicted a high 2:1 / First class degree.
IELTS: 6.0, with no less than 5.5 in each component
TOEFL: 79, with a minimum of 17 in Listening, 18 in Reading, 20 in Speaking and 17 in Writing

课程简介
We study self-assembled, self-organised and nanoscale materials, often based on renewable resources, and apply these materials in next-generation technologies from opto-electronics to tissue engineering.<br>Molecular-scale building blocks are produced using simple synthetic methods or extracted from bio-waste and programmed to form soft nanoscale materials by non-covalent interactions from the bottom up, directing the resulting materials behaviour. This gives rise to highly tunable, multi-component, multi-functional soft materials such as liquid crystals, micelles, vesicles, gels, ionic liquids, and nanoparticles, with wide-ranging real-world applications.
