The Master of Computer and Information Science (MS-CIS) Program can be pursued in three areas of concentration: Computer Science, Information Systems, or Software Engineering. An undergraduate academic background in the chosen area is required for entry into the graduate program. Grades of B or above are expected in any undergraduate preparatory course work taken at UNF. The MS-CIS program is designed to add breadth and depth to a typical bachelor's degree program in the chosen area. Students may pursue either a thesis option or a non-thesis option under each concentration. These options allow the student to demonstrate overall mastery of the discipline by either submitting a thesis or completing additional in-depth coursework. Specifically, the thesis option entails completion of 24 credit hours of coursework and at least 6 credit hours of thesis, for total of at least 30 credit hours, and the non-thesis option entails completion of 36 credit hours of coursework.
