Construction Engineers help build a better world by designing, planning and managing structures such as highways, bridges, airports, railroads, buildings, dams and reservoirs. Construction of such projects requires knowledge of engineering management principles and business procedures, economics and human behavior. Construction engineers engage in the design of structures along with cost estimating, materials procurement, equipment selection and apply science with engineering methods.<br><br>Construction Engineering faculty prepare students to practice as professional engineers and managers in the diverse construction industry. This includes research and education opportunities in discrete event simulation, 3D animation, virtual reality of construction operations, augmented reality, construction safety (CSA and NIOSH organizations), emerging construction technologies, and multimedia development for construction.
