All applicants must hold a baccalaureate degree from the University of Alberta (or its academic equivalent from an academic institution recognized by the U of A) with an average GPA of 3.0 (or its equivalent) in the last two years of study. A minimum admission grade point average of 3.0 on most 4-point grading systems, or a B on most letter grading systems.Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL): Total score of 92 (internet-based) with at least 21 on each section or equivalent
International English Language Testing System (IELTS Academic): Minimum overall band score of 7.0, with at least 6.0 on each band

Curriculum vitae (CV)
Three letters of reference provided by academic staff members capable of assessing the applicant's academic and research ability. References are requested by applicant via the portal at the time of application, and are uploaded directly to the application by the referee. (Students who are graduating from the UofA do not have to provide letters of reference.) Hardcopies are not required.
Official English Language Proficiency scores (if applicable) such as TOEFL, IELTS, MELAB, etc. Do not send GRE.
