The graduate program in electrical engineering is designed to be flexible, with few required courses so that you can work with your faculty advisors to select coursework suited to your interests and career goals. Our program offers you the range of education needed to take on leadership roles within electrical engineering as well as conduct original research in the field.<br>The master's degree program in electrical engineering has two degree options:<br>Thesis option: You complete coursework in electrical engineering and write a thesis on a specific topic of interest within the field. Primary areas of focus in our department include image and signal processing, electromagnetics and microwaves, and power systems and renewable energy.<br>Non-thesis option: You complete a 3-credit professional paper in lieu of an academic thesis. The topic of your professional paper could be specified by your advisor based on a specific topic of interest within the field. Your professional paper will be assessed by the advisor or advisory committee.<br><br>The objective of the M.S. program in Electrical Engineering is to prepare students for careers in industry, research labs, or for admission to nationally recognized doctoral programs. The program provides students with advanced knowledge and research skills in one of the specialties within electrical engineering. The master's program includes advanced coursework in the student's area of specialization and the completion and defense of a M.S. thesis including original research. These research results are to be published in national/international journals or conference proceedings.
