ESL programs (English as a Second Language Support) : To meet the needs of international students, the River East Transcona School Division offers high quality ESL programs. This program accepts students of different levels of English proficiency. Each student is individually assessed upon admission and assigned to the appropriate level class. The curriculum is designed to enhance students' listening, speaking, reading and writing skills. All ESL teachers are fully trained and certified. They pay special attention to students' different needs. International students take classes with local students except for ESL courses. ESL provides support to help students navigate the new school life and adjust to the Canadian education system. TOEFL preparation courses are also available.
