This programme offers the study of physics and selected topics in nuclear science and provides an excellent preparation for a career in nuclear related industries. There are links with many parts of the nuclear industry including those involved with decommissioning and homeland security. Staff from these institutions will be involved in the project work. The programme comprises modules in common with the Physics programme (including Mathematics support). Core physics modules include: Newtonian dynamics, Wave phenomena, The material universe, Working with physics, Practical physics, Maths for physics, Electromagnetism, Condensed matter, Quantum and atomic physics, Nuclear physics and Particle physics. Explore and apply fundamental principles that underpin modern physics, from electrodynamics and semiconductors to the startling conclusions of relativity and quantum mechanics.
