课程简介
You can study for an MPhil or MRes over one year, or a PhD over the course of three years. There are postgraduate research opportunities in all our research groups: Applied Analysis, Continuum Mechanics & Industrial Mathematics, Numerical Analysis and Scientific Computing, Population Modelling & Epidemiology, Stochastic Analysis You can study an MRes in: Mathematical Sciences. Mathematics and statistics are at the heart of all scientific and engineering disciplines, and we have a strong international reputation in the use of modelling and analysis to solve many problems relevant to industry, business and wider society. We work with researchers in other universities, from other disciplines and from industry, business and government sectors, across the UK, Europe, China and the USA.

Numerical Analysis group is one of the largest and most highly regarded groups of its kind in the UK. Their research is focused on the construction and analysis of computational methods for algebraic and differential equations arising in a wide variety of application areas, equipping them to make important contributions across all the University’s strategic research themes. Current examples include Measurement Science & Enabling Technologies (regarding sensor networks with NPL), Advanced Manufacturing & Materials (regarding electric heating in collaboration with the AFRC), Inverse problems, advanced image processing and deep learning, and Ocean, Air & Space (regarding unsteady vortex-dominated flows).
